Ōtautahi Welcoming Dinner

Join us for a meal to manaaki/welcome some of our newest residents, including former refugees, who now call Ōtautahi home.

A chance to make connections and meet others over a delicious traditional Afghan meal cooked by Jamila from the Share Kai Cooks Collective. Learn about the journeys of others and celebrate the diversity of our city.

With traditional Persian music by Simurgh Music.

Tickets are SOLD OUT: $26 for dinner, dessert and drink (see menu below). Price contributes towards 20 free meals for our former refugee diners.

Venue: Multicultural Recreation and Community Centre, 455 Hagley Avenue.

Meals are a collaboration with Purapura Whetu Pōwhiri, the Multicultural Recreation and Community Centre and the Christchurch City Council Welcoming Communities.

Join a meal everyone is invited to and manaaki/welcome our newest former refugee residents to Ōtautahi Christchurch!

Connect and meet others over a delicious traditional meal cooked by the Cooks Collective and enjoy lovely traditional musical performance.

Tickets are $28 for dinner, dessert and drink (halal, vegan and gluten free options). Children’s tickets are $15 for a smaller portion of the same menu.

Ticket price contributes towards the cost of a free meal for our former refugee diners.

Can't make it yourself but want to gift a full ticket to a former refugee diner? Pay it Forward tickets are$20 and will be passed on to a former refugee diner.
